The Birds of Isle Martin

This booklet contains listings of the various birds that have been identified on or near Isle Martin – it is by no means an exhaustive list. Amongst the regular breeding birds we can claim Red-throated diver, Northern Fulmar, Common Buzzard, Northern Wheatear and Twite; whilst common yearly visitors are Dunlin, Ruddy Turnstone, Redwings and Reed Bunting. Perhaps the most unusual visitors – so unusual that they have been recorded only once – were a Bluethroat and a Common Whitethroat.

Our Birds leaflet contains a Bird and Mammal Record Sheet on which visitors to the island can record their observations, thereby enabling us to update our records on an annual basis.
